The Walgreen Company (Walgreens, or sometimes archaic Walgreen) is an American company and the Walgreens Weekly Ad in the US behind CVS Caremark. It specializes in filling prescriptions, health & wellness products, health information and photo services. From February 29, 2016, the company operated 8,177 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. It was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901. In 2014, the company agreed to the remaining 55% of the Walgreens Weekly Ad that they already buy property in order to form a global business. Under the terms of the acquisition, the two companies merged to create a new holding company form, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., the Walgreens subsidiary of the new company on December 31, 2014, which retains its Deerfield headquarters and is traded on the Nasdaq under The Icon WBA.
