Safeway Weekly Ad Circular - Safeway, Inc. is an American supermarket chain founded in 1915. It is a subsidiary of Albert Children after by private equity investors led by Cerberus Capital Management In January 2015, the primary base of the Safeway operations in the western and central United States got a couple stores in the Middle Atlantic region of the east coast. The branch is located in Pleasanton, California headquartered parent company in Boise, Idaho.



In April 1915, Marion Barton Skaggs bought his father 576 square feet (53.5 m2) in American Falls, Idaho, for $ 1,089. The chain, which operated as two separate companies, Skaggs Cash Stores and Skaggs United Stores, grew rapidly, and Skaggs enlisted the help of his assistant and five brothers growing network of stores. The original slogan was "a warning and an invitation" to "Drive Safeway, buy the Safeway." The point of the name of loads on money-and-carry basis - it was not allowed to offer credit, as Grocers traditionally done. It was the "safest way" to buy, because the family could not get in debt from his grocery bill (so many families at the time, especially during the Great Depression).
