Key Food Circular - Key Food Stores Cooperative, Inc. is a cooperative of independent and multinational supermarkets, founded in Brooklyn, New York, on April 20, 1937. The stores in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The seat of the cooperative Key Food on Staten Island, the Executive Dean Janeway. The cooperative also stores under the Key Food Circular, Fresh & Natural Key, food dynasty, Municipal Market, Food World, Food Marketplace Universe Super Fresh and Food Emporium banners.
In November 2015 the company has to buy 23 shops from A & P in bankruptcy, bringing the total number of Key Food Circular under its administration to 212. The shops, including branches of Pathmark, A & P, Waldbaums, Food Emporium and Food basics United States. Two of the stores are owned collectively rather than cooperative operation (first for the company). The acquisition made it the largest grocer in New York. The primary supplier of A & P and Key Food is a C & S Wholesale Grocers.
